"At last, my arm is complete again!" - Sweeney Todd
I got my broken camera and lens back from Canon this week; my lens yesterday and my camera today. It was so wonderful to have them back in my possession. I didn't worry, but it was a relief to know they were safe with me. When I call them my babies, I guess I kinda mean it ;) The first thing that popped in my head as I snapped my lens back into place on my camera was what Sweeney Todd says when he picks up his razor again after fifteen years... and instantly, I knew what I wanted my self-portrait of the day to be. I was inspired by that scene from the movie, and tried to mimic the light and the pose. In case you aren't familiar with it, this was vaguely what I was trying to recreate (though hopefully I don't look that maniacal). There is actually another image from the scene that I would have preferred to show, but couldn't find it online, so that will have to do.
Annnddddd I'm all caught up with my posting! Woot woot! Also, please ignore the bags and bookcase in the background... we are in a rental, and haven't unpacked yet ;)
And now a disclaimer. I love Sweeney Todd, but I don't recommend the movie to everyone. The storyline is captivating, the cinematography gorgeous. I guess I am saying don't watch it just because I like it ;)
